Our classical music concerts are becoming a regular feature at the hotel and this year we take great pleasure in announcing the first celebration of a Music at Leisure weekend between 15 and 17 October 2010.
Leonard Pearcey, Director of Music at Leisure has been organising these highly successful music weekends in the UK for many years but this will be the first one held abroad. His great expertise and knowledge will ensure that this will be a spectacular weekend.
The combination of musical delights, gourmet cuisine, and great company in the beautiful setting of La Residencia will make it an occasion to remember.
The two night package includes accommodation, breakfast, two cava and canapé receptions, two music recitals, two 3 course dinners including beverages, and a Saturday morning activity.
Dress code for the recitals and dinners is black tie. The rest of the weekend is in La Residencia’s usual relaxed style and ambience. For this special weekend music will be provided by the fabulous Carducci String Quartet, winners of several international concert awards.
Their two programmes at La Residencia feature Haydn’s ‘Joke’, Mozart’s ‘Hunt’, Ravel in F, Mendelssohn No 6 in F min Op 80, Beethoven Op 59 No 3 ‘Razumovsky’, the lovely Irish/folk influenced Moeran No 2 in Eb, plus two short pieces: Philip Glass No 2 ‘Company’ and Piazolla ‘Four for Tango’.
Their international following will ensure that this first musical weekend will be popular. The Quartet has its own record label ‘Carducci Classics’.
